Brussels Contemplates Troika Elimination

Brussels is contemplating eliminating troika, that currently oversees Athens in its structural reform, as reported by Reuters.

Discussions have just begun and will gain momentum as the eurozone and Greece plan a new recovery path. It has been reported that taking away troika's supervision on Greece is crucial for the nation's new plan.

Reportedly, the new plan of action would install biyearly checks on Greece, in comparison to troika reviews every three months, as long as the country does not need additional bailouts. For this to be implemented, Athens would have to pledge a six-year reform outline.

An unnamed knowledgable official stated, "There would be no troika...There must be Greek ownership of reform. The Greeks have until October to come up with a programme, which would be decided by December for the start of 2015".
