Yesterday, Yannis Stournaras was approved as the new National Bank of governor by the Parliament's Committee on State-Owned Enterprises, Banks and Public Utility Enterprises and Social Security Agencies.

The Communist Party of Greece's Secretary General Dimitris Koutsoumbas offered the following statements at today's election rally, regarding: "...the real, the substantive dilemma that is: submission or emancipation of our people from the policy of the European Union, of the monopolies".
