The European Central Bank (ECB) has warned eurozone finance ministers that the eurozone may need 1.5 trillion euros to deal with the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, European officials told Reuters.

After taking over her new duties as head of the European Central Bank Lagarde's, the prime minister will meet with her on the occasion of a dinner in honor of Benoit Coeure, who is leaving the ECB's board.

Christine Lagarde on Thursday said she is impressed by Greece's progress in both its fiscal position and its growth rates, in statements after a European Central Bank meeting which she chaired for the first time as its new president.
