The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) convicted the Greek state over the degrading conditions of the incarceration of five unaccompanied illegal immigrants, who had applied for asylum.

A Greek judge serving as a member of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Linos-Alexander Sicilianos, was on Monday elected its new president by the court's plenary session. 

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) issued a verdict condemning Greece over the obligatory application of the Islamic religious law (Sharia), stating it was illegal to force Greek Muslim citizens in Thrace to follow the religious law.
