Twenty-four hours nationwide strike and a demonstration outside the Finance Ministry currently takes place by the Pan-Hellenic Federation of Local Government Employees.

The finance ministry is examining a plan to increase the maximum number of monthly installments available for the payment of debts to the state under the standard debt settlement scheme, which currently stand at 12 months.

Greeks will be allowed to withdraw up to €2,300 from their bank accounts after the country’s Finance Ministry upped the threshold limit from €1,800 on Wednesday.
