Bonhams returns ancient Hermes head

At the presentation of an ancient marble head depicting the god Hermes, returned to Greece on Monday from Bonhams auction house as the product of illegal antiquities smuggling, Alternate Culture Minister Nikos Xydakis said it was proof of what Greece's archaeological service could accomplish.

Greek economy shrinks in Q1

The Greek economy shrank by 0.2 pct in the first quarter of 2015, in contrast with the Eurozone and the EU-28 which grew by 0.4 pct in the January-March period, Eurostat said on Tuesday.

Earthquake rocks central Greece

A moderate earthquake shook central Greece early on Tuesday and was felt as far away as Athens, Greek authorities said. The quake of 5.3 magnitude occurred at 04.09, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said. Its epicenter was 26 km northwestern of Chalkida, on Evia island. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
