The 2015 Golden Globes awards ceremony is set for Sunday 11 January at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and will air live on NBC. Amy Poehler and fellow Greek comedian Tina Fey are the hosts for a third year in a row.
Apart from Fey, another two Greeks are nominated. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has revealed the nominees for the upcoming 72nd Golden Globe Awards and Jennifer Aniston has scored a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama for her indie performance in Cake.
The Friends actress played a grief-stricken woman addicted to painkillers she takes daily to deal with the chronic excruciating pain caused by a car accident in her past. Aniston underwent a tremendous physical transformation for the role, and even chose to wear a back brace to realistically portray her character's suffering - the nod is her first film nomination.
"I'm just humbled. It's just all happening so fast and so beautifully. The Globes are a big fun party and it's so much fun to celebrate with your peers," Aniston said when hearing the good news.
Greek-French music composer Alexander Desplat also made it on the list for Best Original Score. His work on the soundtrack for The Imitation Game, the World War II drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, received some rave reviews.
