Alkistis Protopsalti Delivers a Knockout Performance in New York!

Internationally renowned Greek performer Alkistis Protopsalti offered an electrifying concert at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium, this past Friday, March 14th.

Aptly named “Sound Colors of Greece”, from Odysseas Elytis to contemporary Greek songs, Protopsalti gave it her all at this cultural program.  After two standing ovations, she returned to the stage again and stunned the audience with her mesmerizing voice and energy.

Her passionate message offered hope, confidence and strength to Greeks of all Diasporas and everyone else in attendance.  In the 40 years that she has been performing, Protopsalti possesses 27 albums; all that have gold, platinum or multi-platinum status.

The show was held on the occasion of The 58th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, organized by The Greek Secretariat for Gender Equality and supported by The Greek Tourism Organization. Admission to the event was free and sponsored by Alma Bank.
All contributions made were granted to the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer.

Protopsalti is proud to be Greek and to be able to carry its message through her musical and poetic talents.  She rightly believes that her homeland will continue as a beacon of eternal civilization through its sunshine, culture and hospitality.  Greece to Protopsalti is the essence of passion.  She feels very fortunate that she is able to express herself through music and states: “I have always tried to carry the torch of our culture along with the emotion, our way of life and expression, our joy and sadness; the light, the color and the oxygen of our heart”.
