Michael Chiklis Joins "American Horror Story"

Greek-American award winning actor Michael Chiklis will join the fourth season of "American Horror Story: Freak Show".

The FX television show announced the actor's role Friday evening, at the PaleyFest TV Festival in Los Angeles. Friday marked the closing of the Festival and payed tribute to the conclusion of "American Horror Story: Coven".

As the Associated Press reports, Chiklis' role will be the ex-husband of Kathy Bate's character, who also returns next season. The "Shield" star explained of his new appointment: "...terrified...heart pumping...it really is a freak show". "American Horror Story's" newest season is subtitled "Freak Show". Filming will be on location in New Orleans, with its top-tier cast.

The successful actor is a second-generation Greek American, whose family hails from the island of Lesbos. Chiklis is the winner of a Golden Globe Award, Emmy Award, Satellite Award and Television Critics Association Award for his performance on "The Shield". He has been nominated for numerous others. The performer trains weekly in the Greek martial art of Pankration.  Michael Chiklis is widely known to be proud of his Greek roots and immerses his two daughters in the culture.
