"The Final Payoff" Greek Film Selected at WorldFest
"The Final Payoff" is a formal selection at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival, that kicks off today!
The recently released Greek independent film is also a Remi Award nominee at WorldFest.
The movie has already garnered two Cyprus International Film Festival Audience Awards. It was offered a distribution agreement with Filmboy Pictures at the Peloponnesian International Film Festival, and will be released in Greek theaters this month. It premiered in Athens on March 19th, at a specialized screening, at the Horrorant Fright Nights Film Festival's closing evening.
Its plot centers around current Greek events, concerning its economic state. The goal of the film is to portray the present social atmosphere of the nation, through the perspective of an Athenian loan shark's employee. Its genre is an action film, with added dramatic and social components.
"The Final Payoff" is written and directed by Alexander Leontaritis and produced by Desmida Visual Creations, Alexander Leontaritis and Greg Terzakis. Its actors are: Greg Terzakis, Laydust (Marina Tsigonaki), Yannis Bostantzoglou, Eleni FIlini, Giorgos Giannopoulos, Christos Theofilatos, Argyris Thanasoulas, Vangelis Mourikis, Maria Kalagbor, Haris Georgiadis, Avraam Papadopoulos, Tety Kalafati, Christina Noland, Theofylaktos Argyrou, Manos Katsabouris. Anastasis Kolovos and Kyriakos Keranopoulos make guest appearances.
The 47th Annual WorldFest Houston International Film Festival runs from April 4th to April 13th, 2014. The Festival was founded more than 50 years ago. It is the world's oldest Independent Film and Video Festival. WorldFest was established by award-winning director and producer Hunter Todd, whose goal is to offer a concrete platform for independent filmmakers.
