Actor Mickey Rooney Passes at 93

Hollywood superstar Mickey Rooney passed away at the age of 93 yesterday, surrounded by family at his North Hollywood home.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office ruled it as a natural death; no other details are available at this current time. The successful Oscar and Emmy Award-winning actor attended Vanity Fair's Oscar party in March and appeared healthy.  The actor had over an 80-year career including film, musical and television performances.

Born Joseph Yule Jr. in 1920 in Brooklyn, he began his phenomenal career as a toddler. He has approximately 250 screen credits to his name. The entertainer declared in 2008 to The Associate Press: "Don't retire, inspire". Rooney was one of the last remaining stars of Hollywood's studio generation. His big break happened in "A Family Affair". The 5 foot 3 star was small in size but huge in personality.
