Stony Brook University Holds Manos Eleutheriou Tribute Concert

The George and Olga Tsunis Center for Hellenic Studies at Stony Brook University and the New York Chapter of the American Foundation for Greek Language and Culture, have organized a "Musical Tribute to Poet/Lyricist Manos Eleutheriou".

The event will take place on Sunday, May 4th at Stony Brook University's Student Activities Center Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

The melodic performance will feature Grigoris Maninakis and special guest artists from Greece, that include vocalist Stavroula Manolopoulou and bouzouki soloist Christos Vidiniotis. The Mikrokosmos Ensemble will also take the stage with Glafkos Kontemeniotis playing the piano, Kostas Pasarros singing and operating the bouzouki, Megan Gould stringing the violin and baglama, Panayiotis Andreou playing the bass and Spiros Arnakis beating the drums. The evening will be narrated by Stelios Taketzis.

The tribute is coined,"Τα λόγια...και τα χρόνια - The words...and the Years" and is sure to be a success. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students and children 12 and under are free. For more information, please visit: http://www.stonybrook.edu/tsuniscenterevents.
