Yorgos Lanthimos, the world-renowned Greek filmmaker who directed the acclaimed period drama The Favourite, is in negotiations to direct New Regency’s adaptation of the novel The Hawkline Monster, as the Hollywood Reporter says in an exclusive piece.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ dark comedy, “The Favourite”, and Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron’s semi-autobiographical black-and-white drama, “Roma” emerged as big winners at the 72nd edition of the BAFTA Awards.

Yorgos Lathimos’s “The Favourite” is one of the two winners of the American Cinema Editors’ ACE Eddie Awards for 2019, with Giorgos Mavropsaridis picking up the prize for best Edited Feature Film (Comedy) category. “Bohemian Rhapsody” topped the Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) category at the ceremony that took place on Friday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
