A female adult bear was reported killed over the weekend after being hit by a car at the Siatista-Kastoria section of the Egnatia highway, near the junction of Vogatsikos.
The fifteen bears in the wildlife shelter of “Arcturos” in Nympheo, northern Greece, woke up from hibernation in the past few days as March brought spring and milder weather in the country's northern regions, the shelter announced on Thursday.
A brown bear cub coined "Zoe" was located near the northwestern Greek village of Avghi last April roaming alone, according to reports.
