"Oracle of Athens" findings to be revealed

Archaeologist Jutta Stroszeck, a lead researcher at the German Archaeological Institute in Athens, will present findings on the so-called “Oracle of Athens” on Nov. 4 at the institute’s premises.

Evidence of the unique oracle, dedicated to the Olympian god of Apollo, was uncovered at the Kerameikos archaeological site in central Athens, off the northwest side of the Acropolis.

The "Oracle of Athens” is the only such monument linked to classical Athens, and offers significant information about the ancient Greeks’ religion, divination practices and the cult of Apollo and Artemis, according to Stroszeck, who has worked at the site since 2012.
