In the credentials hall of the Presidential Palace and in the presence of the President of the Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos and the French ambassador in Athens, Christophe Santepi a ceremony was held, which observed a minute's silence in memory of the victims of terrorist attacks in Paris.
Then the band of the presidential guard played the national anthems of both countries.
Mr. Pavlopoulos in the brief conversation he had with the French ambassador asked him to assure the President of the French Republic and the French people that "for us, the Greeks, and I think for all the civilized democratic world, particularly during these tragic moments, the three principles of the Declaration of Human Rights and the Citizen of 1789, namely Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, are always lively and topical. "
At the ceremony the Greek government was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Ioannis Amanatidis.
