Budget Bill Draws Flak

Opposition parties have reacted strongly to the 2014 budget, tendered to parliament today that will be voted on 8 December.

The budget foresees a primary surplus of 812 million euros and a return to 0.6% growth in 2014.

Eukleides Tsakalotos, economy sector chief for main opposition SYRIZA called the bill "a text under question", since as he said the government has not agreed with the troika, nor has a new mid-term plan been tendered.

Communist party KKE stressed that the new budget reflects the tax assault on low income strata, and the cutbacks in state spending for health, education, and social security fund outlays.
