Abandoned house collapses in Gazi, flattening two cars

An abandoned house collapsed shortly before 6:00 on Sunday morning in the downtown Athens district of Gazi - a popular spot for clubbing and nightlife - damaging two cars parked in front of it.
Local residents were brought out of their beds and into the street, alarmed by the noise of falling masonry, and the fire brigade was called in but did not have to intervene as the house was empty.
