Delphi Economic Forum: French ambassador: Foundation of Greek Development Bank 'very good news'

Participating in a panel discussion on the topic "Hellenic Development Bank: Potential and Prospects" at the 4th Delphi Economic Forum on Thursday, French Ambassador to Greece Christophe Chantepy hailed the founding of a Greek development bank as "very good news".
Talking about the significance of such a bank, he said it was needed to finance and support the operation of small and medium-sized enterprises in Greece.
The ambassador also referred to France's experience and the success of the development bank in his own country, noting that "we can no longer imagine in France how we could live without it."
"With the Hellenic Development Bank in the future, cooperation in innovation matters could be developed even more between the two countries," he added.
The main challenge for Greece now, he concluded, was to combat the 'brain drain' and find ways to support its human resources. Otherwise, he warned, Greece's economic future would be in jeopardy. A development bank would help in this direction, he said, providing the right financial support to young people striving to breathe life into their ideas and set up their own business.
