A whopping 97 percent of coastal waters in Greece in 2018 were considered as excellent for swimming, based on specifications listed in Community directive 2006/7, according to a press release on Friday by a relevant department at the environment and energy ministry.
The results of quality checks around the country for 2018 have already been conveyed to the European Commission, which approved of the results and posted them earlier this month.
