With a glamorous celebration, a rain of colorful fireworks, and the wishes of Mayor Costas Bakoyannis, Athens welcomed the new year.
Kostas Bakoyannis went up on the stage, which was set up in Syntagma Square, and before launching the countdown to the New Year's reception he wished: "Take each other's hugs to find no one in 2020 alone."
A spectacular celebration and an audiovisual show
Crowds had gathered from early Tuesday night at Syntagma Square, where the spectacular celebration of the year began with a magical show and audiovisual show with lots of music, fun, dancing, lights and glitter!
Hosts of the evening were Themis Georgantas and Nadia Boule.
Athens residents and visitors enjoyed the band MELISSES with Ivy Adam, Demy and Josephine on stage. The artists were joined by the award-winning Wolves gymnastics team with a spectacular program. Dj Pitsi then took over the bat with a very powerful dj set!
