The inspections and spot checks by engineers of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport continue today, Monday 2 November, in residences, business premises, and public buildings of Samos.

On the island, from the first hours of the catastrophic earthquake, there are 57 engineers of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, who assess the damage to the affected buildings (houses, public buildings, temples), but also the ports of the island.

By the end of yesterday (November 1, 2020), autopsies have been carried out on 490 buildings across the island.

414 of them concern dwellings in Vathi, Karlovasi, Chora, Kokkari, Pythagorion and elsewhere, of which 300 have been declared temporarily uninhabitable.

Also, 15 professional premises have been inspected, of which 8 are temporarily unsuitable for use.

Regarding the temples and public buildings, 21 out of 35 have been temporarily declared unsuitable for use.

Finally, inspections have been carried out in 44 schools, of which 11 have been deemed unsuitable.

Specifically, 5 are in Vathi and Ano Vathi and 6 are in Chora, Pythagorion and Karlovasi.
