The brutal crime that shocked Santorini on Friday with the victim being 69-year-old hotel owner in Oia, Nikos Halaris, was solved by police.

A 20-year-old man from Albania, who worked occasionally in various jobs on the island, was reportedly arrested for the murder of the unfortunate hotelier. Among other things, in the previous period he had done some work in the hotel of the unfortunate, murdered, hotelier.

According to the same information, the motive for the murder was financial, with the 20-year-old claiming that the hotelier owed him some money, 200 euros, which he did not give him and so he decided to kill him.

In a fight, he beat him to death and then covered him with flammable material and set him on fire to eliminate any traces of his own presence.

It should be noted that the hotelier was found dead on Friday morning at the receptionroom  of his hotel in Oia, Santorini. His body was charred, while a fire had broken out in the reception area. The fact that the fire was limited and some blood stains that were found led the authorities to conclude that it was a criminal act and not an accident and immediately they began the investigation, which ended today with the arrest of the 20-year-old for the savage crime.
