The issuance of the permit for the Volos waterway had preceded, while the controls for the establishment of a waterway in Ios, the first in the Cyclades, were successfully completed. This lays the foundations for the creation of an extensive network of about 150 waterways in the country over a 5-year horizon, which will be the largest network in Europe, contributing to the Greek economy with more than 1 billion euros.
