The very influential Primate of the Church of Greece also referred to the horror experienced by the ethnic Greek community in southeast Ukraine, which already mourns for 10 victims.
Archbishop Ieronymos conveyed his wish and desire for an end to the war, and his prayers for the repose of the souls of the victims.
He requested from the envoy that he convey his whole-hearted support to the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius.
Finally, the Archbishop of Athens said that if requested all of the Athens Archdiocese’s facilities will be made available to the Greek state for the hosting of Ukrainian refugees.
