Golden Dawn members of parliament Ilias Kasidiaris, Ilias Panayotaros, and Nikos Michos were released under restrictions, today, by common agreement between inquisitor and prosecutor
"The fabricated charges are falling apart," noted the official site of Golden Dawn, adding, "Greek justice refused to to commit the political crime of the occupation government of the foreign stooges."
Pavlos Sarakis, attorney for Ilias Kasidiaris and Ilias Panayotaros, spoke of a judicial milestone, stating that the case was political persecution to stop his clients from exercising their parliamentary duties and to hinder Ilias Kasidiaris in running for mayor of Athens.
"The social and political front against Naziism and its expressions is given and indivisible. The judicial process is at the beginning," said government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou.
Interior minister Yannis Michelakis noted that there was no need for incarceration as long as there were restrictive measures.
"If they were to be released, why the show with the handcuffs," wondered SYRIZA MP Dimitris Papadimoulis in a tweet.
Meanwhile, foreign media like Reuters and the BBC are questioning how tight the case against Golden Dawn is.
