The facade of the Ancient Amphipolis tomb (Kasta Tumulus) in northern Greece has been cleared almost entirely, the Ministry of Culture said on Monday.
The head of excavations at Amphipolis, Katerina Peristeri, has revealed her belief that the tomb has not been looted. The statement was made on Friday morning, during a visit to the site by a group from main opposition SYRIZA.
Excavations in the site of ancient Amphipolis resumed today, with archaeologists intensifying their efforts to solve the puzzle of the Sphinxes.
