The search for the 72-year-old man who has been missing since yesterday morning, after the catastrophic floods in Evia, continued all night.

A major ecological catastrophe was visible on the mountainous and semi-mountainous surface of north-central Evia island on Wednesday morning in the wake of almost two days of a burning wildfire in a pine-covered region.

Greek authorities are investigating the causes that led to the devastating fires which destroyed vast swaths of forests on the island of Evia, and according to initial sources, there are indications of foul play pointing to intentional arson.
