Farmers may have been hit in the face with the government's tax measures , but their rally in Athens was relatively uneventful, with more than 4,000 present.
Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras met earlier on Thursday with a delegation of farmers but the two parties did not come to an agreement. The meeting ended in a deadlock.
A survey conducted by the American Farm School in Thessaloniki (photo) shows that the profile of today's farmer has changed significantly. Today farmers are college graduates and keen in following technological developments in the sector.
