A Turkish Coast Guard speedboat collided with a Hellenic Coast Guard vessel off the Port of Kos on Wednesday morning.

This is a serious incident and, according to the information so far, the Turkish vessel made violent maneuvers that had as a result its collision with the Greek vessel.

The Greek CG vessel has been damaged but its still operational.

An announcement is expected from the Greek Ministry of Shipping.

In a video that has been released, the Greek Coast guard officers can be heard reporting to the Center of Operation, “We are inside our waters and they hit us. There is damage”.

An incredible Turkish provocations came to the fore on Friday, when off the coast of Lesvos, there was a provocative harassment of a Hellenic Coast Guard boat by a Turkish Coast Guard speed boat, with an apparent risk of collision. 

A contract for the acquisition of 15 high-speed patrol boats, with an option for adding three more at a total cost 33,780,000 euros, was signed on Wednesday by Shipping Minister Yiannis Plakiotakis and respresentatives of the contractor firms "F B Design S.R.L" and "Electronica Marittima S.R.L".
