497 undocumented migrants, mostly Syrian nationals, reached several beaches of Lesvos island in the last four days.
The problem of illegal migration is a major one and the country cannot bear such large inflows, Defence Minister Panos Kammenos said on Tuesday adding that this is not an issue of "Greece but of Europe, which would have to put pressure on Turkey to apply Dublin II.”
Greek coast guard statistics showed that at least 10,445 migrants entered Greece illegally through sea, during the first three months of 2015.
