Kyriakos Mitsotakis outlined his stance in the cabinet for the measures that the government will take to relieve the families of the victims of the train tragedy in Tempi, which is in progress, as well as for the initiatives to install modern security systems.

The new Minister of Infrastructure Giorgos Gerapetritis offered his apologies on behalf of the government for the Tempi accident because we could not prevent it, tasked during the press conference on the interventions concerning the railway network.

The death toll of the train collision that occurred on the Athens-Thessaloniki line has risen to 57, Hellenic Police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou confirmed on Thursday evening.
