Authorities have arrested a well-known TV chef with a long television career and international distinctions for debts to the state. The 58-year-old is accused of concealing income totaling €1,341,000 over a three-year period and of failing to pay €375,000 in taxes.

"Our main goal is a sustainable reduction of taxes," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Tuesday during an event inaugurating the new building that will house the Independent Authority for Public Revenues (AADE). He stressed that the government was engaged in a "constant war against tax evasion" and intended to further reduce taxes before the end of its term in 2027.

Independent tax authority AADE auditors who conducted an investigation at "Nammos" in Mykonos found themselves faced with extensive tax violations - tax evasion and levy evasion.
