FM Dendias to meet with UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology on Wednesday during Greek-Emirati business forum

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will have a private meeting with  Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates in Athens on Wednesday at noon. The UAE Minister is leading a business mission to Greece that includes five of the largest UAE investment funds as well as 20 major companies.

Meanwhile, the message of the further strengthening of the exceptional dynamics of the strategic relations between the UAE and Greece was sent by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Athens Sulaiman Almazroui, in view of the Greek-Emirati business forum, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday in Athens.

The ambassador cited the frequency of visits exchanged between officials of the two countries over the past year and a half as proof of, among other things, the common understanding the two countries share on a wide range of.

As a typical example of “warm and strong bilateral relations” he mentioned the recent visit of the Greek Prime Minister to Abu Dhabi, during which 12 memoranda of understanding and agreements were signed, as well as the agreement between the Hellenic Development Investment Bank (EATE) and the state industrial and Abu Dhabi Investment Fund ADQ for investments of 4 billion euros in Greece.

The ambassador then spoke of the “strong interest” of the Emirati people for investments in Greece, referring to the UAE-Greece Business Forum, headed by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber.

The Forum is organized on the initiative of the Emirates and in particular of the Abu Dhabi State Investment Fund (ADQ), expressing the strong interest of the Emirates for investments in Greece and collaborations with Greek companies “, notes Suleiman Almazroui.

The Forum will be attended by 50 companies of the Emirates that are active in various sectors, such as tourism, energy, agriculture, health, transport, infrastructure, etc. Important UAE companies such as Mubadala Investment Company, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority – ADIA, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company – TAQA, Masdar, AD Ports, Etihad airlines and others will be present.

Also, the United Arab Emirates will be the “Honored Country” at this year’s 86th Thessaloniki International Fair.

Finally, the Emirati ambassador underlined to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency that “it is important to mention that we expect cooperation in the field of aviation between the UAE airlines and the Greek airlines, a fact that is expected to further increase the economic and tourism relations between the two countries “.
