A 40-year-old man was remanded in to custody on Wednesday on charges of abduction and rape of a minor, a day after police seized him for allegedly trying to kidnap a 14-year-old youth he lured to a meeting via the Internet.

A judicial appeals board has returned an indictment against DEH Public Power Corp. president and CEO Arthuros Zervos, charging him for approving salaries above the legal limit for 19 top DEH executives between 2010-2012.

Tabling bills under emergency procedures - a practice abused in the last parliamentary period - will not be repeated in this Parliament, nor can the practice of attaching amendments to entirely unrelated bills, Parliament president Zoi Konstantopoulou told the press on Wednesday.
