American Hellenic Institute Pens Christmas Appeal

The American Hellenic Institute located in Washington, D.C. was established in 1974 and is one of the numbered Greek voices in America.

As stated on its website, AHI strives to: "Upholding the rule of law in matters of U.S. foreign policy, particularly in our nation's dealings with Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey."  During this holiday season, AHI President Nick Larigakis has called on the Greek-American community for support and has penned the organization's 2014 Christmas Appeal.

The AHI President stated, "You have helped the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) to become a major voice for Greek Americans in our nation's capital. Your continued and loyal support is vital to our efforts to fight for stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, for the rule of law in Cyprus, for religious freedom for the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and for the re-opening of the Halki School of Theology, for the Macedonian name issue, and for peace in the Aegean."

Larigakis added, "All of these efforts require that AHI be properly funded. At this special time of the year I ask that you generously support AHI with a special contribution. Thank you and I hope that the coming year will bring health, peace, and happiness to you and your families."
