AHI President Larigakis & PM Tsipras Hold Athens Meeting

American Hellenic Institute President Nick Larigakis traveled to Athens for a three-day trip, where he conducted meeting with Greek governmental leaders, that included Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

AHI's President stated of the meeting, "I thank Prime Minister Tsipras for taking the time from his busy agenda, especially over the weekend, for a substantive discussion on issues of importance to the relationship between longtime allies, the United States and Greece."

Larigakis added, "Greece continues to face many challenges domestically and abroad. AHI looks forward to working with the Greek government to help address these challenges from the perspective of meeting our mission of strengthening relations between the United States and Greece."

Their meeting covered a wide range of topics, including Greek and U.S. relations, Greece's financial crisis, and possible investment opportunities. AHI's President also held meetings with Minister of Defense Panos Kammenos, U.S. Ambassador to Greece David Pearce, and General of the Hellenic Army Michail Kostarakos, among others.

The American Hellenic Institute located in Washington, D.C. was established in 1974 and is one of the numbered Greek voices in America. As stated on its website, AHI strives to: "Upholding the rule of law in matters of U.S. foreign policy, particularly in our nation's dealings with Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey."
