Panos Prevedouros is big in Honolulu

Translation By Lisa Darilis

A Greek engineer, born in Patra is a well known personality on the island of Honolulu, as he made his his business to repeatedly run for mayor.

Panos Prevedouros is one of the most famous figures on the island, for he tried to become "the first man" of Honolulu three times, but unsuccessfully. Despite all that, he remains a significant figure in Hawaii as a professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Hawaii in Manoa.

Panos Prevedouros was born in Patra, Greece in 1961 and came to the United States at age 18 and settled in Hawaii, his path having combined what he enjoys most, with what is useful.

According to a blog by Konstantinos Flamis, also from Patras, Panos Prevedouros never forgets his roots, as he often visits Greece and the Achean capital as often as he can.
