HALC presents a behind-the-scenes look at the Daily Lives of Hellenic Air Force Pilots (Video)

The tense situation over the respect of air and sea space over the Aegean, along with the increasing Turkish violations thereof, were the main focus at a special conference organized by the Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC) at New York University in Manhattan.

The Colonel of the Greek Air Force, Angelos Kaligarides, presented a series of video footage and undisclosed data on the tense situation over the sea and air borders between Greece and Turkey. Included in this were repeated violations, manhunts and nerve wrenching situations that eventually could lead to the cost human lives.  A typical example is a video where a Turkish pilot is passing really close to the Greek F16. In a matter of a few seconds, a tragedy was prevented.

Professor Nicholas Katsibras of Columbia University, also a member of the Hellenic American Leadership Council, who has also served in the navy, analyzed this situation from his own geopolitical perspective. Professor Katsibras sounded the alarm on the danger of the Turkish incentives and what they can lead to, and that they will be addressed, more or less, by the leadership as a status quo.

This conference was organized by the Hellenic American Leadership Council along with the Hellenic Lawyers Association of New York.
