Stephanopoulos Secures Lengthy ABC Deal

George Stephanopoulos has just finalized a long-standing deal, securing his position on Good Morning America and This Week.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the successful news host's contract did not expire until the end of 2014, yet the new document was rapidly secured by ABC News executives and Stephanopoulos' agents. The agreement is thought to be lengthier than the typical three-year news models.

Stephanopoulos' timely work contract leaves him as the only male anchor left on Good Morning America, as former co-anchor Josh Elliottt left this month. Elliot has been replaced by Lara Spencer and will co-host with Robin Roberts and Stephanopoulos. The successful Greek-American has hosted GMA since 2009. The popular early program is experiencing its largest overall viewership in over twenty-two years.  It also holds its highest news demographic goal of 25-to-54-year-olds, in eight years.
