Mark Philippoussis Gushes Over Newborn

Tennis superstar Mark Philippoussis recently became a proud father for the first time two month ago, and regularly offers snapshots of his son.

The half-Greek half-Italian athlete born in Melbourne, was formerly ranked 8th in the world, became a dad in February to son Nicholas Emanuel Philippoussis. Based in San Diego, the adoring father regularly posts shots and loving statements about his new role, on social media.

Over the weekend, the 37-year-old Greek-Australian champ offered Instagram photos of himself snuggling with his infant. Philippoussis' text below the photo read: "So thankful. @silvanalovin #family #blessed #happy #thankful #love #beautiful #life". A few days before, he shared on the site his astonishment at how quickly his son is growing: "@silvanalovin #family #love #life #beautiful #blessed #thankful".

Mark Philippoussis is very proud of his Hellenic heritage. The tennis ace described, "It's very important...My dad being Greek, my mum's Italian, but she speaks Greek, I was born in Australia . . .obviously I'm always going to play for Australia but the Greek heritage was very important because Greek was my first language growing up as a kid".
