"Facing the Wind" Casts Greek-American Rita Wilson

The upcoming film Facing the Wind recently cast Greek-American star Rita Wilson, along with Evan Rachel Wood, Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga and Jennifer Beals.

The movie is directed by Joe Berlinger and is a true crime story, based on the bestselling non-fiction book written by former New York Times journalist Julie Salamon, with the same name.  Facing the Wind depicts the true account of Bob Rowe's violent acts against his loved ones, and his successive quest for reparation. Tom Hank's wife Wilson is set to play a crucial supporting role.

The movie marks the first time Rowe's 1978 murder trial will be portrayed on the big screen. His case administered one of the first favorable insanity defenses in New York, after he killed his entire family. The crime feature will start production in late 2014 in New York City, with an approximated $5 million dollar budget.

Rita Wilson's mother was born in a Greek village, in modern day Albania. The Greek-American star's Hellenic ethnicity plays a large role in her existence. She served as My Big Fat Greek Wedding's producer, which is the highest grossing independent film ever. She also produced and held a role in My Life in Ruins. Wilson attends St. Sofia's Greek Orthodox church in Los Angeles regularly.
