Debbie Matenopoulos Participates in Barbara Walter's Sendoff
Fifteen years after she was let go from The View, Greek-American TV personality Debbie Matenopoulos joined its hosts, to offer Barbara Waters a final farewell.
Yesterday, the 39-year-old participated in Walter's official send-off from the popular morning program. Matenopoulos is now married for the second time, after eloping in Greece, and is pregnant with her first child.
During her segment, producers aired a throwback image of her days on the show, between 1997 to 1999. Matenopoulos was 24-year-old when she was hired as one of the original co-hosts of The View.
During the episode, the Greek-American woman discussed her pregnancy and stated: "I'm five months pregnant. I'm popping, I've finally popped". Excited at the location of her recent wedding, she declared, "I got married in Greece!". She married her boyfriend of two years in April, when she was four months pregnant.
Matenopoulos was one of the original five correspondents of The View, that included Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Star Jones and Meredith Vieira. Of Walters, she stated: "I owe [Barbara] everything. It's truly the end of an era and I'm really excited to share this with her".
