The value of Greek fruit and vegetable exports to Germany increased by 8 percent this year, compared to 2022, at the same time when such imports to the country – which sports Europe’s biggest market and economy – decreased.

Greek and German leaders on Thursday discussed the situation in Ukraine in the wake of Russia’s invasion of the country last February, besides the expected focus on the ongoing energy crisis and bilateral relations, according to a bulletin issued after the late morning meeting in Athens between Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Olaf Scholz.

Greece as a key country in the production of renewable energy sources (RES), the prospect of direct German investments, but also the production of green hydrogen and batteries, new technologies and recycling system, were some of the issues on which the minister of Development and Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, focused on during his three-day visit to the German capital, where, among other things, he participated in the Economic Conference of the FAZ newspaper along with German Finance minister Christian Lindner and his other European counterparts.
