Greek rail service company TrainOSE announced during the 81st Thessaloniki Trade Fair this weekend that it would soon be launching so-called smart tickets for travel on its network.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of the EU-Turkey deal so far, saying refugee flows have diminished significantly during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held on the sidelines of the UN World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul late on Monday.

European countries that refuse to give shelter to refugees could be forced to pay into the coffers of states that do, under plans to be unveiled by the European commission on Wednesday.
