Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Monday welcomed an agreement protecting the market for Greek feta in Japan, following a meeting with Economy Minister Dimitri Papadimitriou and Agricultural Development Minister Vangelis Apostolou.

The Federation of Greek Dairy Industry (SEVGAP) on Thursday launched an initiative aimed to help resolving problems facing Greek feta cheese, as a national product outside the country.

According to an agreement reached by the European Union, it appears that Canada will be able to manufacture "feta" cheese, but under specific conditions where they have to legibly and discernibly differentiate its status of: type, style, imitation, or combined, and where the geographic location and providence of the manufacturing of the product was.
