Greece to simplify repatriation process for US-trained doctors

In a significant step toward reversing the country's long-standing brain drain, the Greek government has announced new legislation aiming at easing the return of Greek doctors trained in the United States. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced recently, stating that a forthcoming bill will allow automatic recognition of specialty and subspecialty titles for US-trained Greek medical professionals provided that the titles will “be valid and will correspond to positions available” in the country.

Sorry state of Greek ambulances makes German Press

An article in German newspaper Handesblatt features an extensicve article on the sorry state of the Greek emergency rescue service notes that some of the ambulances have mileage comparable to athree trips from the earth to the moon!

British hospitals recruit Greek doctors

Three staff members of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, in the town of Marrow in northeast England, headed to Cyprus and Greece to interview a pool of candidates. The scheme is part of a drive to hire up to 40 nurses.
