Tourism ministry seeks to woo 500k Chinese visitors a year

On the back of a newly inked agreement with Chinese carrier Juneyao Air for direct flights from Shanghai to Athens as of July 2020, Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said on Monday that the ministry was preparing a strategic plan to reach out to the Chinese market aiming to bring some 500,000 Chinese travelers to Greece by 2021.

New ministry seal to certify Greek enotourism enterprises

Wineries open for visitation will be awarded a special seal indicating that they abide by the set-out standards for the operation of wine tourism enterprises in Greece, following a joint decision by the tourism and agricultural development ministries published recently in the Government Gazette.

Direct air links key to Greece tourism growth

Tourism Ministry Secretary General Evridiki Kourneta focused on the importance of air transport and connectivity towards further tourism growth, during the 12th “Aviation: Present and Future” conference held in Athens, on Wednesday.
