Greek National Team Delayed at Newark Airport, NJ
After defeating Bolivia last night, the Greek National Team's flight to Brazil was delayed at Newark New Jersey's International Airport.
The winning soccer players are headed to Brazil's World Cup training base. The Greek Football Association stated, "...due to a technical problem of the navigation system of the airplane, the flight of the national team from New Jersey to Aracaju (Brazil) was cancelled".
Greece was scheduled to depart from Newark early this morning, after beating Bolivia in last night's friendly match held at New Jersey's Red Bull Arena.
The Football Association added, "FIFA is already informed and the national team will stay overnight" in the greater New York City area. Greece is set to play its first match at the World Cup on June 14th, against Columbia.
