The tourism ministry is aiming to capitalize on Greece’s good performance in 2016 by opening up to new markets, extending the tourism season to include winter and autumn, and attracting higher income tourists, Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura said on Wednesday.

Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura briefed the MPs and the parties' responsible for Tourism in a broad meeting on Thursday on the lastest developments and the course of the Greek tourism.

Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, during her visit to New York, met with Archbishop of America Dimitrios who referred to the importance of tourism for Greece and the country's development.
